Trader Joe’s Just Recalled Cheese Due to Listeria

A recall was just announced on a cheese product sold in select Trader Joe’s locations, according to a recent company announcement. This is due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The product being recalled is the Face Rock Creamery’s Vampire Slayer Garlic Cheddar Cheese Curds. The cheese curds were sold in 6-ounce plastic containers with a printed use-by date of August 29, 2025. This recalled cheese was sold at Trader Joe’s stores in northern California (including in Monterey, Fresno and other northern locations) and northern Nevada (including in Carson City, Reno and Sparks).
Check your refrigerator for this product, and if you have it on hand, dispose of it or return it to your local Trader Joe’s for a refund. While there are no illnesses currently connected to this recall, Listeria infection (listeriosis) can be severe for sensitive groups like young children, those who are pregnant, age 65 or older or immunocompromised individuals. If you are showing signs of listeriosis like fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
