A Little Rain Can’t Ruin Kate Middleton’s Waves—See the Photos

The thing about summertime is that the sun can be bright and shining one minute, then the clouds will roll in and suddenly, sprinkles are falling from the sky. Those out-of-nowhere rainstorms are just part of July, especially if you live in a rainier climate like England. But even a surprise rain shower was no match for Kate Middleton’s iconic waves!

The Princess of Wales was in Colchester, England to visit the RHS Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital. For the visit, her hair was styled in her signature shampoo-commercial-perfect waves, which have become synonymous with the Princess.

See what I mean? Classic Kate Middleton, with not a hair out of place. But at some point during the visit, where she also planted flowers in the hospital garden, it began to rain, turning her blowout into something much beachier. The curls softened into looser waves with more texture due to the moisture in the air, but you know what? They still look amazing. Actually, I might even like this look better than Middleton’s typical waves.

We have seen the Princess of Wales experiment with different wavy styles through the years, including sculpted Old Hollywood-style waves, flippy Farrah Fawcett-inspired ’70s swoops, and yes, beach waves.
