Lola Tung Took the Wrong-Shoe Theory to Trendy Extremes With Her Boho Summer Look

Lola Tung’s recent press-tour look doesn’t quite make sense—which is exactly why it’s so good.
On July 16, the 22-year-old actor attended a New York City launch event for The Summer I Turned Pretty in yet another eclectic look styled by Britt McCamey. Clearly, it wasn’t enough to demonstrate the coolest way to wear a silk scarf, so Tung and McCamey had to push the limits of summer accessorizing even further.
Tung started off with an all-white base, grabbing a runway-ready look straight from Ann Demeulemeester’s spring 2025 collection. Though the billowing ruffle sleeves with lace trim give the boho minidress a bit of a 19th-century twist, the drop-waist silhouette and beaded lace headpiece look like they were pulled directly from the 1920s flapper era.
So, naturally, Tung and McCamey paired the entire look with knee-high boxing sneakers from another one of Demeulemeester’s runway looks. What, like you wouldn’t think of that?
The natural follow-up to slim-soled sneaker trends, boxing sneakers have been having a major moment on the runways and among fashion It girls, now including Lola Tung.
