I Tried Skin Laundry’s Sculpting Facial and It’s Worth the Money

I love the sculpted look contouring gives my face, but I’d happily skip the extra step in my makeup routine if I could. That’s why I was so excited to try Skin Laundry’s new sculpting facial, designed to tighten, lift, and contour.
Known for their laser facials and skin-resurfacing services, Skin Laundry is a global skincare center offering a range of energy-based aesthetic treatments, from laser hair removal to customized facial peels. What truly sets them apart is their Laundry Club membership and dermatologist-curated treatment plans designed to make practicing skincare a consistent lifestyle habit, not just a one-and-done thing. “Just like building muscles at the gym, optimizing skin health takes time—it’s not a one-facial-and-done deal,” Skin Laundry’s chief medical officer, Dr. Roberta Del Campo, M.D., says.

What Is a Sculpting Facial?
The sculpting facial uses multi-polar radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields to create a more defined appearance across the entire face and neck. “While many sculpting treatments use radio frequency alone, our dual-technology approach allows for a deeper and more efficient stimulation of collagen and elastin production,” Dr. Campo says. “Pulsed electromagnetic field boosts cellular regeneration by stimulating fibroblasts (the cells responsible for producing collagen), while radio frequency delivers controlled heat for immediate tightening and long-term skin rejuvenation.”
The treatment is pretty painless, but it can get pretty hot on the face depending on your pain tolerance. The treatment lasts 60 minutes, and some mild redness may occur during the procedure, but it typically resolves within 72 hours.
The Benefits
- Tightens, lifts, and contours the skin
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces the appearance of scarring, uneven texture, and pore size
- Sculpts the jawline and chin area for a more defined look
- Zero downtime
- Results are noticeable immediately
If you’re looking for a facial treatment that delivers immediate results, this sculpting facial is a great option to consider. Dr. Campo explains that the system they use heats the skin to the “optimal therapeutic range within seconds,” which means it’s a more comfortable process to experience and very time-efficient.
How to Prepare
To get the best results, the brand recommends drinking lots of water (about four 8-oz servings, in addition to your regular daily water intake) the day before and the day of your treatment. “Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment ensures that your skin is in an ideal state to receive the treatment safely and effectively,” Dr. Campo says.
She also advises avoiding harsh or drying skincare ingredients that contain high concentrations of alcohol. “The radio frequency energy targets water molecules in the skin; well-hydrated tissue conducts energy more effectively, which enhances collagen stimulation and overall results,” Dr. Campo explains.
What to Expect
I tried the sculpting facial three times over a three-month period, and my experience was consistently pleasant during each session. Before the first appointment, my Skin Laundry expert asked about my skin care concerns, explained the treatment process, and discussed how we could achieve my skin care goals. After that, she took a photo to log into her private records to keep track of my progress.
Then she performed a quick cleanse to remove any makeup and sweat buildup on my face and then began the treatment. She started by sweeping the electric wand over my cheeks repeatedly, using the same up-and-down strokes. She spent about 10 minutes in one area and then moved on to the next targeted areas (cheek, jowls, jawline, chin, neck), repeating the same motions with the wand.
While the device is in action, you’ll start to feel your skin getting warmer, but it shouldn’t be too painful. Whenever it began to feel too hot, I would let my expert know, and she would adjust the temperature on the wand to let my skin cool for a few minutes before starting back up again. After the treatment was completed, my expert applied a customized medical-grade serum tailored to address my skin concerns (brightening and reducing acne scarring).
The Cost
The sculpting facial is designed to be done in a package of six treatments. Which means you’ll need to come in six different times for each treatment. The cost for Skin Laundry members is $1,200, while the non-member fee is $1,500.
Potential Side Effects
The Skin Launry sculpting facial is designed to be safe and effective for all skin types, including sensitive skin, when performed by a trained provider. Mild redness may occur on some skin types for up to 72 hours, and mild heat from the treated area is normal.
Dr. Campo also notes that individuals with thinner skin or areas overlying bone, such as the cheekbones or jawline, may experience increased warmth or mild sensitivity during the procedure. As with any heat-based treatment, there is a minimal risk of burns if not performed properly, which is why provider training and experience are critical.
The Results
As with any skincare treatment, consistency is key to achieving and maintaining the best results with the sculpting facial. While anyone who receives the treatment will leave with a noticeable boost in radiance and firmness, the results are both immediate and cumulative, meaning that the benefits of each treatment build upon those of the previous one.
Dr. Campo recommends getting at least six treatments to see maximum results. In terms of frequency, that will vary from client to client. Before starting a treatment plan, the providers will assess a client’s skin and develop a customized protocol that could include receiving a Sculpting Facial as often as every 10 days.
To keep the results up at home, you should practice a skincare routine that includes firming active ingredients. “Using a good vitamin A serum at night, as the last step before moisturizer, will help promote collagen production between visits to the clinic,” Dr. Campo says.
Aftercare
Immediately after treatment, apply a gentle moisturizer and sunscreen. You can continue your regular daily skincare routine, using a gentle cleanser and cream, but you’ll need to avoid using any products with active ingredients (think: vitamin C, AHAs, retinoids, and physical exfoliation) for 24 hours.
You should also avoid heat exposure, so refrain from taking a hot shower or hopping into a sauna or steam room for at least 24 hours following your treatment. Since the treatment heats the tissue underlying the skin to stimulate collagen production, you’ll want to avoid excess heat, which could cause inflammation.
The Final Takeaway
This was my first time trying a sculpting facial, and it’s a major upgrade from my usual at-home gua sha routine. The results were instant and visible, especially in my biggest trouble spot: the fat under my chin. I’m not quite ready for injectables like Kybella, so this felt like the perfect non-invasive alternative, and it didn’t disappoint. While one session delivers noticeable results, consistency is key for lasting improvements, and I’m definitely sticking with it. I walked out of every appointment looking snatched and glowing—and who doesn’t love that?
