Hailey Bieber’s Naked Chrome Nails Are the Prettiest Summer Mani

I don’t want to sound dramatic, but it’s of the utmost importance that we soak up the sun right now. It’s officially August, which means the end of summer is in sight. There’s no bottling sunshine, so if we don’t enjoy it now we’ll be completely out of luck.

My plan to make the most of this sweet, sweet final stretch of warm weather? Find the perfect end-of-summer manicure. Something that catches the sun and reminds me to take it easy. Hailey Bieber has a good idea for the set, which makes sense—she’s a California girl, after all.

Over the weekend, Bieber had a little social media posting time set aside to clue us in on her latest nail set. In a TikTok video, she shared her current go-to makeup routine, brandishing products and brushes with long, almond-shaped, and slightly shimmery nails that we’re going to call “naked” chrome.

Depending how the light hit her famous fingers, the set could look like it was the work of any random clear polish or appear glazed to the gods. That’s the magic of this mani: it might not be bedazzled or covered in polka dots, but it sneakily offers a little something extra.

How to Get the Look

As we very well know, the original chrome manicure, ie. the Hailey Bieber x Zola Ganzorigt “glazed donut” manicure, consists of a sheer beige base and pearly topper that shimmers in the light. For this one, you can certainly try your hand with a chrome topper—the lightest helping!—or grab a simple clear polish with just a touch of shimmer like Manucurist’s Active Shine. One coat will do the trick.
