The White Lotus Season 4: Cast, Release Date, and Latest News

Get ready to say bonjour to the White Lotus season four.
White Lotus fans didn’t have to wait until the end of season three for a renewal notice, as HBO confirmed season four back on January 22, 2025. “Good news travels fast,” the show’s social media team captioned their Instagram announcement at the time. “#TheWhiteLotus is excited to welcome you to a new destination.”

What does that mean? At some point, a new group of out-of-touch tourists will check into a stunning White Lotus resort for a bit of rest and relaxation, only to leave worse for wear…if they return at all. That sucks for them, but is great for viewers, who will spend weeks sharing ridiculous fan theories, quoting the most outrageous characters, and maybe even booking their own vacation in whatever gorgeous location the next season is set. “Piper, no!” Piper, yes!
Here are all the details we’re keeping track of heading into The White Lotus season four, from release date to location and casting announcements. Oh, and an important update on the iconic “ooh-loo-loo-loos” missing from the season three theme song.
When does The White Lotus season 4 premiere?
No word yet, but hopefully fans won’t have to wait over two years for season four. Season one aired in July 2021, while season two premiered in October 2022. That was a much shorter wait than the 29-month break between season two and three, which was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
Where will season 4 take place?
After kicking things off in Hawaii, The White Lotus creator Mike White took his team to Sicily for season two and Thailand for season three. “My dream would be to hit every continent,” White said during a visit to Australia in June 2023, per Deadline.
In February, White made it known that he wasn’t interested in heading back to Europe for season four. “Where we choose to go next could be hugely impactful [to that locale],” White told The Hollywood Reporter in April. “That’s why it was so cool to shoot in Thailand. It’s hard to go backward. Like, ‘Oh, we’ll do it in Paris!’ That feels like a cop-out.”

The star talks with Glamour about Chelsea and Rick’s backstory (including a not-so-meet-cute in Cabo), her character’s “controversial” fate in the finale, and why she’s a little tired of the intense fan fixation on her appearance.
It looks like White changed his mind, however, because Deadline reported on September 4 that the show is, in fact, returning to Europe—France, specifically.
