Anne Hathaway’s Simple Mani Proves Andy Sachs Figured Out the Cool Girl Nail Formula

Key Takeaways
- Anne Hathaway was spotted filming the oh-so-exciting The Devil Wears Prada sequel with a simple manicure.
- “Soap nails” have been trending for a while, so it makes sense that Andy Sachs would be on board with the classic look.
How excited are you for The Devil Wears Prada 2? I’m about as excited as I am for Practical Magic 2, which is to say *extremely* excited.
After what feels like decades of teasing, we got confirmation this week that both movies are in production. And while it was a treat to see Nicole Kidman back in her wispy copper bangs on that witchy set, it’s perhaps even more exciting to see Anne Hathaway take to the streets as a 20-years-into-her-journalism-career Andy Sachs.
She might’ve given up the fashion and beauty magazine world the last time we saw her (although photos of Hathaway with a Runway garment bag would beg to differ); but at the very least, it appears she’s still been reading them.

In photos snapped from the movie set on Monday, July 21, Hathaway hits the streets in a selection of outfits and one very good soap manicure. The celebrity favorite nail style involves squeaky clean-looking nail beds and either the nudest of nude polish colors or a simple top coat. Hathaway went the nude route, choosing a sheer pink shade for a barely-there-but-still-manicured finish.

I’ve seen enough manicure trends come and go that I could easily write a cerulean-style speech about polish choices. But in some photos, Hathaway is clutching a Runway-branded garment bag… so maybe she’s still one step ahead of me in the trend prediction world.
Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs Style
To further get into character, Hathaway’s hair was styled in long, middle-parted soft curls. Of her many outfits, my favorite was a long denim skirt that she paired with black Chanel Birkenstock-style sandals and a white tank. She topped the look with an open Jean Paul Gaultier pinstriped vest, choosing to wear it buttoned up and with matching pants in some other shots.

A colorful maxi dress also made an appearance, and there’s certainly much more where that came from. It’s The Devil Wears Prada 2!!!!!!
Okay, okay. Maybe I am more excited for this one. Now give us a look at Meryl Streep.
