Celebrate Our ‘Love Island’ Winner By Copying Her Coral Manicure

Though there have been so, so many great beauty moments during this season of Love Island USA (hello, Maybelline sponsorship), there’s something about a bright coral manicure on a girl who stands on business with all ten toes that hits especially hard.

We were all rooting for Miss Amaya “Papaya” Espinal’s success since she appeared as the first bombshell on Love Island USA Season 7. On Sunday, July 13, she and the darling Bryan Arenales were crowned the show’s winners, taking home a $100,000 prize and inspiring our glam for the rest of summer.

While in the villa, Love Island contestants get regular beauty treatments—that’s why the show takes a filming break for hump day and Saturdays (when episodes of the Aftersun after show air). Though Espinal has rocked plenty of pretty looks during her six weeks in Fiji—I was enchanted by the soft yellow chrome nails she chose midway through the season—this manicure was extra special.

Painted to match her sequined Rachel Allan dress, the 25-year-old’s lengthy nails were filed into a sharp almond shape. The coral shade she chose to complete the look was bright and so very papaya. Miss girl has been offline so long she doesn’t know it’s actually a guava girl summer, but that’s not the point.

How to Get the Look

Amaya famously didn’t have anyone running her social media profiles during her time in the villa, so her nail polish preferences are a guessing game. Luckily, there are so many great papaya-worthy coral orange polishes out there that can hold us until her glam team comes forward.

OPI’s Live Love Carnaval is a classic, and Manucurist’s Coral Reef is extra orange-y and gorgeous. I also love Zoya’s Desi, Olive & June’s Lava, and Londontown’s aptly named Papaya.

On her last date with Bryan before the big announcement, Amaya added to her long list of iconic quotes with: “If my light is too bright for somebody, wear sunglasses or something.” It’s a lesson that rings true for overall energy and mani color. Maybe it is a papaya girl summer after all.
