Costco Is Bringing Back a Major Perk for Members

Costco fans, rejoice: the superstore may be bringing back a huge benefit to their most loyal customers at the end of this month.
The company posted on Instagram that starting June 30, 2025, Costco will be allowing their executive members to enter and shop at warehouse locations an hour earlier than other members of the chain. That means that Costco will start opening at 9 a.m. for executive members, and all other members will not be able to shop until 10 a.m. (besides Saturdays, where the executive member “hour” ends at 9:30 a.m.).
This isn’t a new upgrade—executive members were able to shop earlier in the past, but the benefit was lost to time…until now. With the membership prices being raised last year, it’s only fair that additional member benefits like earlier hours are brought back, in our opinion.
If your Costco already opens at 9 a.m., hours may change to cater to the exclusive shopping for executive members. You may want to check with your local Costco to see how your store’s hours may change in the coming weeks once this news is confirmed.
Even Gold Star members will no longer be able to shop at the early hour, so if you’re not an executive member, it may be time to upgrade. On a fan Instagram post about this news, one Costco shopper writes that although the executive is pricier, “the membership pays for itself in rewards gift certificates.”
