Dollar General Recalled Coffee Nationwide Due to Glass

  • Clover Valley Instant Coffee recalled after one consumer reported glass contamination.
  • The affected coffee was sold at Dollar General stores nationwide.
  • While no injuries have been reported, talk to a healthcare provider if you are experiencing health complications.

A recall on coffee sold at Dollar General stores nationwide was just announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to glass fragments being found in the product, posing a laceration risk.

The coffee impacted is 8-ounce containers of Clover Valley Instant Coffee sold from July 9 through July 21, 2025. The recalled coffee has a printed UPC of 876941004069 on the packaging, a best-by date of 12/13/2026 or 12/14/2026 and one of the following lot codes: L-5163, L-5164 or L-5165.

The recall was announced after a consumer complained of finding glass in the instant coffee. While no injuries are currently connected to this recall, Dollar General is encouraging customers to dispose of the product if you have it on hand. You can contact the company to request a refund by email at customercare@dollargeneral.com or by phone at 1-888-309-9030, available daily from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. CST.

“Ingesting glass fragments may cause injury to the consumer, and these injuries may include damage to teeth, laceration of the mouth and throat, or perforation of the intestine,” the FDA announcement explains. Talk to a healthcare professional if you are experiencing any health complications after preparing or drinking the recalled coffee.
