How to Copy Gabbriette’s ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Makeup

Key Takeaways
- Gabbriette attended the premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer wearing a daytime smoky eye and cool-toned brown lip.
- Her makeup artist, Melissa Hurkman, broke down exactly how they got the look.
I don’t know what you did last summer, but I do know what you’re doing this time around: channeling Gabbriette. Or actually… you were probably doing that last summer, too? There’s literally a song about it.
On Monday, July 14, the model showed up at the premiere of the new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie (it comes out nationwide this Friday) with a makeup look that you’re going to want to copy in its entirety for many June, July, and Augusts to come.

The Inspiration
For the big night, the 27-year-old worked with makeup artist Melissa Hurkman (and her MAC kit) for a look that paid tribute to the movie’s ’90s roots while remaining entirely Gabbriette.
“For Gabbriette’s look, she wanted a daytime smoky eye with a little lift and a warm brown liner on the inner corners and outer edges to really brighten up the center of her eyes,” Hurkman explained in a press release. “We kept the skin super fresh and light with just a hint of coverage and a soft flush on the cheeks. And of course, finished it off with her signature cool toned brown lip combo, always a fave.”

How to Get the Look
After cleansing, Hurkman added MAC’s Hyper Real Serumizer to balance and hydrate the model’s skin before applying makeup.

“I started by applying Strobe Cream in Pinklite to the high points of the face, cheekbones, and down the center of the nose for added glow. Then, I applied a thin layer of MAC Face and Body Foundation to even out her skin tone,” she explained. “In areas where we wanted more coverage, I used Studio Radiance Concealer, specifically under the eyes and around the nose. To set the skin, I lightly dusted Studio Fix Powder with a fluffy brush. I finished the complexion with a soft wash of Harmony Blush over the cheeks.”
For those smoldering eyes, she used the Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Tailor Grey, sweeping the pigment across Gabbriette’s eyelids and into the crease as a soft base color.
“Using a small fluffy brush, I added a neutral grey shade from the eyeshadow palette to the outer corners, focusing along the lash line,” she added. “For definition, I applied Blacktrack Fluidline to the upper waterline.”

On the lower waterline, she used Costa Riche Eye Kohl on both the inner and outer corners, “leaving the center bare to open up the eyes and create a subtle halo effect.”
Gabbriette’s Lip Combo
And then there’s that famous lip combo. For that famous pout, they went with Gabbriette’s current favorite combo: a softly buffed out Greige Lip Pencil and Lipglass Air in Instinct pressed into the center.
“The result is a beautiful, beige-cool-toned brown lip,” Hurkman says.
Once again: so inspired.
