How to Style Capri Pants Like a Fashion Editor From Summer to Fall

There’s no trend I welcomed back quite like capri pants. One look at Bella Hadid in three-quarter length pants and cropped blouse, and I immediately started planning how to style capri pants for myself. It wasn’t that I’ve grown tired of my skirts or wide-leg jeans, it was more that the styling potential for capri pants felt infinitely more abundant, thus sparking my creative need to piece together cute outfits for the summer and fall.
Capri pants, by nature, are the perfect transitional pants. The not-too-long, not-too-short length and autumn’s mild temperatures go together like long car rides and foliage peeping. And while summer called for mockneck tank tops to be paired with our capri pants, fall is the perfect time for polo sweaters, cardigans, and blazers. I even have a plethora of shoes that go well with these mid-calf pants in any season, like the ballet flats I recently purchased, my favorite mules, or my go-to loafers. I’m letting my imagination run rampant here, but it’s all just to inspire you, the reader, on the many ways you can style capri pants.
To help you give a visual, I’ve collected all my ideas for how to wear capri pants this fall, below.

When in doubt, a button down is always a safe top to wear with slim capri pants. The look feels equal parts relaxed and put together, and can easily be accessorized for a little personalized touch. Right now, tying a silk scarf around the waist is a popular look. But some classic gold hoops, a pair of yellow tinted shades, or chic pumps can instantly elevate your capri pants look too.
