I Think I Know the Exact Orange Lipstick Taylor Swift Wore on Travis Kelce’s Podcast—Watch the Video

Allure

ICYMI, Taylor Swift just ushered in her new era and album, The Life of a Showgirl, and it has a signature color: orange. From the album cover to her countdowns and teasers—which may include some of the costumes from the final leg of the Eras tour—everything has been resplendent in a cheery shade of tangerine orange. And that includes her lipstick.

Swift shared the big news in her recent appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, and after the initial excitement surrounding the teaser video and subsequent podcast interview subsided, beauty enthusiasts instantly clocked something different about Swift: her lip color. Instead of the crimson lipstick she typically wears, she added yet another Easter egg to the puzzle with her lip color of choice. Yep, you guessed it—orange! The Grammy winner paired her signature cat-eye liner with a light orange-toned lip color as a subtle nod to album’s orange-and-green aesthetic. (It’s worth noting that she is not wearing orange lipstick on the actual album cover, but rather a glossy berry pink. Hmm…)

So which lip color was Swift wearing for the interview? We have a feeling it’ll be a pivotal part of the Showgirl era, so you might want to start shopping for an orange-y shade now. Fans are pretty sure it’s NARS Original Lipstick in Morocco, which Swift’s makeup artist previously confirmed has been a longtime for the superstar. It’s also available in a liquid formula, though that one is currently sold out—likely because of the Showgirl of it all!

Given that Swift has made orange the color of the year, Swifties are wasting no time stocking up on similar colors to channel their inner Showgirls. The key is to find a soft orange hue, more peach or apricot than traffic-cone orange. Luckily, you’ve got options! Some have speculated that she rocked the Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil Stain from her BFF Selena Gomez’s makeup line Rare Beauty, specifically the peachy shade Joy. However, Swift’s lips definitely look matte in the podcast interview, so a liquid formula like MAC’s Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolor in the light orange shade Sorry Not Sorry would give you a similar look, as would NARS’s Powermatte Lipstick in Free Bird. If you’re intimidated by orange, Dior’s Rouge Dior Lipstick in 200 Nude Touch is a great starter shade with a beautiful warm undertone, as is Fenty Beauty’s Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Noodz & Dudez. The Life of a Showgirl comes out on October 3, so you’ll be perfectly on-theme for Showgirl season and spooky season!
