I’m a sleep coach — the mattress I’d buy my family and friends is $400 off in Labor Day sales

I’ve been a mattress tester for five years and have slept on every type of bed you can buy online. While I’ve tried and liked mattresses made by top-rated brands including Nectar, DreamCloud, and Helix, the one that saved my sleep is the Saatva Classic. I recommend this mattress to most sleepers, especially this Labor Day when you can save $400 on the Classic at Saatva and get a queen for $1,739.
I’ve personally tested the Saatva Classic twice and find it hard to fault. This hotel-style innerspring hybrid suits every sleep position and most weights (it isn’t suitable for bed sharers who weigh over 300lbs each though). It aced all our critical mattress tests and has been crowned our best mattress of the year for the fourth time in a row.
At this point, I trust the Saatva Classic so much that I’d buy it for every member of my family. I’d choose the Classic Plush for my lightweight side sleeping niece, the Luxury Firm for all of the couples, and the Firm for my back-sleeping older brother was loves hard beds. So if you’re shopping the Labor Day mattress sales for a comfy new bed, I’d recommend the Saatva by a mile. Here’s a closer look…
How much does the Saatva Classic cost in 2025?
Tariffs have started hitting the US mattress industry and Saatva is not immune. The queen size Classic has increased by $40 since the last major sale (Memorial Day), and now costs $1,739 compared to the slightly cheaper price of $1,699 earlier this year.
Personally, I think $1,739 is still excellent value for a mattress that, as I explain in our Saatva Classic mattress review, aced all of our critical mattress tests and scored favorable review scores from 9/10 people I asked to try it.
However if tariffs have forced once price hike this year, there’s every chance they will again. My advice? If you want the Saatva Classic, buy it while this Saatva Labor Day sale is still running as I doubt it will get any cheaper this year – but it could become more expensive.
Smaller budget? Try this instead…
I’ve just finished my third round of fully retesting the Saatva Classic, and straight after I retested the DreamCloud Classic from cover to base.
New review data is coming for each mattress soon, but I’m more certain than ever that the DreamCloud is the absolute best mattress in a box for most sleepers and for the money.
It doesn’t beat the Saatva in terms of performance, build quality or materials, but it offers a lot of comfort and support for over $1,100 less.
And I’d also argue that the current DreamCloud mattress sale has the best value deal you’ll find this Labor Day: a queen DreamCloud Classic for $649 plus $599 of free bedding. Here’s the skinny…
I love the Saatva, and will always recommend it as the best of the best, but this DreamCloud deal is outstanding and a superb choice for couples, and average weight people who sleep in any position.
It’s a little softer than previous models though, so if you’re heavier you may feel more of a hammocking effect on your back, hips and legs. If you want something firmer, pick the Saatva or look at The WinkBed or The Plank Firm.
