Khushi Kapoor’s showstopper look for Rimzim Dadu was inspired by tribal crafts

Khushi Kapoor's showstopper look for Rimzim Dadu was inspired by tribal crafts

For Rimzim Dadu’s latest showcase at Hyundai India Couture Week, Khushi Kapoor took centre stage as the designer’s showstopper in a look that brought together structure, heritage and innovation. Titled Oxynn, the collection pays tribute to India’s traditional crafts, specifically those from Gujarat, reinterpreted through Dadu’s distinctive, material-forward lens.

Khushi Kapoor wore a two-piece ensemble that embodied the collection’s ethos of “modern couture woven from memory and metal.” The top, a sculpted halter-style bralette, featured Dadu’s signature metallic cords, pleated into wave-like forms with a raw, architectural finish. The edges were lined with circular wire detailing that echoed traditional mirror work to give it the look of lace borders. The distinctive empire seam featured a seed bead-inspired band with beaded strings and metal wires shaped like a scalloped border, reimagined here in a futuristic style.

The more textured skirt, made with custom textile and metallic mesh, mimicked the effect of latticework or an oversized jaali, with every clover leaf motif inset with square translucent panels that reflected light. The straight and lean silhouette, along with the combination of structured metal and sheer layering, made the outfit feel equal parts industrial and ornamental.
