Kitchen Organizers for Bulk Shopping Trips to Costco

I always knew I’d be checking gas prices as an adult, but I never knew I’d be monitoring egg, cheese, rice and salmon prices. Unfortunately, grocery store costs have gone up, and folks are turning to bulk shopping stores to get more for their money. I have finally joined all of my coworkers and signed up for a Costco membership.
As someone who has an inherent need to be organized, I have no choice but to get serious about it. I’m determined to keep my refrigerator, freezer and pantry in line. I know I’ll be coming home with a haul of goodies, most of which come in bulk. I’m hoping that these helpful kitchen organizers below will help me streamline the process of unpacking and organizing after a haul, including ideal bulk grocery bags and genius refrigerator organizers.

Creative Green Life Heavy Duty Reusable Grocery Bags, 3-Pack

There are over 10,800 of five-star ratings on these grocery bags, and so many people call them out specifically for bulk shopping at Costco, noting that they’re “sturdy” and “easy to carry” even when they’re filled. With the bag’s strong, open design, I can fit so much more, meaning I won’t have to make multiple trips from the car to my kitchen, which is a huge plus for me.
Organic Cotton Mart Bulk Storage Bags, 6-Pack

While Costco often stores produce in containers, I love the idea of having these extra-large cotton bags on hand to help organize smaller items. Think canned goods, breads and spices, all in a designated place. It’ll make the dreaded unpacking a breeze, since I have preorganized items based on where they’ll go in my kitchen. They also have a handy drawstring at the top, so I’ll know everything won’t spill over!
Ball 64-Ounce Wide Mouth Mason Jars with Lids, 2-Pack
Amazon
These large glass jars are airtight and ideal for several items: They’re great for keeping grains like rice, oats, nuts and seeds fresh. I don’t love keeping large bags of pantry goods open because it can cause early spoilage. They’re also great for preserving food. They can be used for pickling cucumbers or storing homemade jam and apple butter.
Bormioli Rocco 67-Ounce Fido Glass Jar, 2 Pack
Amazon
I love these jars for baking ingredients, specifically flour, sugar, cocoa powder and even chocolate. Similar to the Ball Mason jars, they’re sturdy, large and have an airtight lid. I love the latching lid because it’s quick to open, and the lid never gets lost.
Formaticum Cheese Storage Bags, 15-Pack
Amazon
Cheese is expensive, but it’s something I will never be able to give up. Because of that, I’m determined to store my staples, like Parmigiano Reggiano and Pecorino Romano, the right way. These storage bags come in a pack of 15 and ensure that cheese has enough room to breathe and stay dry.
OXO Good Grips Adjustable Fridge Shelf Riser
Amazon
The OXO refrigerator organizer collection has been so helpful for me, allowing me to keep my space more streamlined and match the white interior of my refrigerator. This riser does exactly what you’d think it does, effectively adding an extra shelf between existing ones. Now, I have space for more food.
OXO Good Grips Fridge Undershelf Drawer
Amazon
Like the shelf riser, this is another unique addition to my refrigerator. It goes under a shelf to add a drawer. I use this for bulk cheese storage, so they have their set place to stay as fresh as possible. While it looks like a complex contraption, it attaches in seconds and is easy to move around.
Ispecle Freezer Organizer Bins, 4-Pack
Amazon
The freezer is a lifeline when it comes to bulk shopping. I plan on grabbing a lot of bread at Costco, and the idea of everything just strewn about in my freezer irks me. I bought these larger bins to put in my freezer (size down if you have a more compact ice box) to keep those bulky items in one neat place.
OXO Good Grips Fridge Organization Bin
Amazon
A more basic part of the OXO refrigerator organization line, I use these throughout my fridge and pantry. They’re lightweight, and I appreciate the streamlined, simple design. I like using them to organize large condiment bottles that may not fit in my refrigerator door. I also use them for separating produce in drawers and storing packaged proteins.
Bentgo Signature Leak-Proof Glass Food Storage, 6-Pack

I’ve been raving about these containers since I first got them. They’re made of glass and silicone, and maintain an airtight seal. I appreciate how easy it is to clean them, because there are little to no nooks and crannies to worry about. Not only that, they’re dishwasher-, microwave- and oven-safe. Everyone needs a good set of storage containers, especially if you plan on buying in bulk.
