Kylie Jenner Just Made a Triumphant Return to Her Nail Art Era — See Photos

Allure

It feels like such a distant memory, but there was a time when I very closely associated Kylie Jenner with nail art. Sure, more folks were doing intricate designs back then than they are right now—we’re definitely in a low-key mani chapter, and that’s fine—but few celebrities very intentionally shared close-ups of their ever-changing acrylics quite like Jenner did a few years ago. But with very few exceptions, her signature manicure style has switched to more classic looks—sheer pale pinks and timeless reds. Still, I think we’re seeing enough of a pattern to believe that the Kylie Cosmetics founder may very well be returning to her nail art era.

It’s been a slow climb, but last year she suddenly showed a playful side when she got insect-inspired nail art: a yellow-tipped French manicure with a different cutesy critter on each nail. Since then, she’s sprinkled in a few hints at a nail-art renaissance, like a heart pattern, and glued-on gems, but it wasn’t until her latest look, after weeks of subtlety, that I really felt like we may be seeing a return to major nail looks.

Over the weekend, Jenner posted a photo of her long, oval nails to her Instagram Stories, showing off the most incredible tan and black snakeskin manicure. Though subtle in color, the gorgeously detailed design really dares you not to notice her hands.

On Monday, Jenner’s nail artist, Zola Ganzorigt shared the same photo to her Instagram grid to give the world a more lasting opportunity to admire the manicure, which Ganzorigt tells us was accomplished with foils.
