Kylie Jenner’s ‘Twisted French Manicure’ Adds the Perfect Final Touch to a Basic Summer Minidress

If there’s one thing Kylie Jenner is gonna do, it’s play around with the French manicure.
Time and time again, Jenner has found new ways to update the classic mani, whether she’s adding an unexpected white tip to her toes or merging the design with the most current nail trends. Just last week, the 27-year-old was sporting “disco polka-dot nails,” adding silver chrome spots to her French manicure, courtesy of celebrity manicurist Michelle Humphrey.
However, she’s already back to working with longtime nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, who’s responsible for many of Jenner’s most interesting takes on the French manicure: From her pink-on-pink nails to the studded blue tips she wore for a basketball date night with Timothée Chalamet. And those are just the ones Ganzorigt designed this summer! Last July, Ganzorigt painted all sorts of insects on Jenner’s green-tipped French manicure for a bit of a “summer garden” moment.
Their latest collab was much more demure—and easy to achieve at your local salon or at home. On July 26, Ganzorigt debuted Kylie Jenner’s new “twisted French” design, which just involves adding two curved black stripes to a basic French manicure on almond shaped nails. In the snap, Jenner’s black and white gingham minidress serves as the perfect backdrop.

Though it may not feel as experimental as chrome polka dots or painted critters, the nails had a massive impact on Jenner’s OOTD. On July 27, Jenner dropped a fuller-picture of the Miu Miu minidress she wore to grandma Mary Jo Campbell’s 91st birthday party. “91 years of MJ ♥️ the queeeeen 👑 we love you,” she captioned the post, which included a mirror selfie of the $2,450 tank top dress.

Without much else going on beyond a classic gold watch and dainty gold band on her right ring finger (believe me, I double-checked), this twisted French manicure added just the right amount of intrigue to turn this simple summer look into a grammable ‘fit.
