Margot Robbie’s Summer Mani Is So Unexpected

Key Takeaways
- Margot Robbie wore her nails painted black for a recent Q&A at Glastonbury Music Festival.
- She paired the indie sleaze-inspired manicure with the perfect outfit—soft jersey minidress and knee-high leather boots included.
- The shade is so unexpected for summer.
We’re not in Barbieland anymore. Or maybe Margot Robbie finally got around to watching Oppenheimer? Either way, her most recent manicure was a big departure from what we knew back in the summer of ’23.
Over the weekend, Robbie appeared in Glastonbury, England for a Q&A with her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. At the panel, the new mom dressed as the quintessential Glastonbury girl —black nails included.

Short and filed into a natural rounded shape, each of the 34-year-old’s fingernails was painted the same edgy dark shade.

In the past, Margot has turned to celebrity nail artist Betina Goldstein for her designs. Goldstein primarily works with Chanel Beauty, so my best guess for this polish is the Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in the black Le Diable en Chanel. The brand describes it as a black shade, but it’s not as black hole-pigmented as some we’ve seen. It’s a little softer (and thus more wearable), like a very, very, very, very dark gray.
Margot Robbie’s Indie Sleaze Outfit
When attending the UK’s biggest music festival… do as Alexa Chung did in the aughts. Robbie’s Glastonbury-chic look consisted of a dark green stretch jersey tank Miu Miu dress (comfy!), leather knee-high boots (of course), and a black jean jacket tied around her waist.

Her long blonde hair was worn down, tousled and middle parted with her dark roots peeking through. Makeup-wise, she kept things simple with minimal eye product and a pink lip balm.
Apparently they did make a music festival Barbie back in 2016, but I think it’s time for an update. Or at least a UK edition. Are you listening, Mattel? Give her Hunter boots for stomping through the mud and do not forget the dark nail polish.
