Known for her sharp wit, scene-stealing roles and effortlessly warm energy, actress, producer and all-around icon Regina Hall is stepping into summer as the ultimate hostess—armed with juicy recipes, nostalgic dishes and a trusty roll of paper towels. We caught up with Hall in New York City at a cookout-themed event celebrating her new partnership with Bounty. Here’s what she had to say about the hydrating drink she makes every morning, favorite family recipes and why she’s got a roll of Bounty in more rooms than just the kitchen.

What’s your go-to breakfast?

Fresh juice! I got a juicer six months ago, and now I make one every morning. I shoot really early, and sometimes I’m not hungry at 5 or 6 a.m., but a juice gets me going. I’ll do different blends, some for skin, some to help with digestion. One of my favorites? Fresh cantaloupe juice, ice cold. Nothing like it.

What’s your current snack obsession?

Mango balls! They’re like dried mango but rolled into bite-size balls. I have a snack problem; when I love something, I go all in. No moderation. It’s mango balls now, but it was chips last month.

Any nostalgic recipes that remind you of home?

Yes, anything my mom used to make. Since she passed, I’ve tried to re-create her dishes. Her cornbread, fried corn, potato salad and mac and cheese were legendary. She made everything with so much love. For the mac and cheese, you need at least four types of cheese, and you can’t overcook the pasta before it goes in the oven. That’s the key to avoiding mushy mac!

What inspired this new partnership with Bounty?

I love Bounty! I grew up with it and it was always in my mom’s and my auntie’s kitchens. I’ve spilled water and wiped it up with one sheet, and it doesn’t tear! That’s when you know it’s good. I use it all the time in my kitchen, especially when I’m cooking and cleaning as I go.

Do you use it beyond the kitchen too?

Absolutely! I keep a roll in my bathroom. I actually asked them if they could make a flat-pack version that fits on a towel holder! I just don’t love reusable hand towels, they feel less hygienic. With Bounty, I can grab a fresh sheet every time, and that just feels cleaner to me.

What’s your favorite way to move or stay active?

I love yoga and I’m a big fan of Pilates. I’ve also gotten into indoor cycling and, more recently, rowing. Rowing is great because I can do it any time of day. Pilates is best in the morning, otherwise, I’ll probably talk myself out of it by the afternoon. You know how it is!

You’ve been lovingly dubbed “America’s Favorite Auntie.” What is some wisdom you live by?

Just be yourself and do you—that’s what I always say. I meet so many incredible women, and they each shine in their own way. It’s like looking at stars in the sky: some are brighter, some are smaller, but they’re all beautiful. That’s how I see people. It’s what makes life feel full and connected.
