Sasha Keable Isn’t in Her Feelings—She’s Making You Sit in Yours

Sasha Keable isn’t chasing a trend, a sound, or a TikTok moment. She’s chasing truth. The South London-raised singer and songwriter has always used her voice to cut through the noise—but on her upcoming EP, Act Right, she’s not aiming for a rollout. She’s aiming for release. “What do I need to get off my chest?” she says. “What’s going to cleanse me?”

The answer is a body of work forged in the emotional aftermath of betrayal—not just romantic, but personal, internal. The kind of heartbreak that leaves you asking, “Was I ever enough?” And instead of dodging the ache, Keable wades in, barefoot and unfiltered, crafting songs that bleed honesty. One track might make you want to dance in defiance. Another? Lie on the floor and feel everything.

Raised in a home where hip-hop, heavy metal, and Donny Hathaway lived under one roof, Keable’s musical DNA is a beautiful contradiction. Her father, a devout gig-goer who still attends four shows a week, introduced her to The Chronic before she could walk. Her sister played Brandy. Her uncle gifted her Donny. And somewhere in that mix, she found her own range, literally. “I used to only sing high,” she says. “Then I discovered Layla Hathaway. Now I can sing really fucking low.”

Keable’s textured harmonies, often mistaken for full choirs, are layered by hand, voice by voice, often solo. “People ask me to come do ‘my choir thing’ on their records,” she laughs. “But I built that sound myself. It’s sacred.”

Still, for all the polish and vocal virtuosity, the rawness is what stays with you. This is music made from the realest moments, the quiet spiral after a betrayal, the fire in your gut when you realize your worth, the clarity that comes right before you finally let go. “I want this EP off my back,” she says. Not because she’s tired of it, but because it’s no longer hers. “I want people to take what they need from it.”

And they will. Because when Sasha Keable sings, she doesn’t just tell her story. She tells yours, too. During a live listening session at Barlume for an exclusive performance preview of her upcoming EP, we got to learn more about the stories behind the songs, and the woman who lived them.
