Sophie Turner’s Go-To Pasta is Just 4 Ingredients

- Sophie Turner’s favorite dish consists of homemade noodles made with flour and egg tossed in a butter and Parmesan sauce.
- Turner makes the pasta herself, but store-bought spaghetti or fettuccine noodles are an easy substitute.
- Plus, the actor shares how she incorporates pasta into her balanced diet.
When it comes to pasta, the possibilities are endless. Complex pasta dishes can be delicious and filling, but sometimes you just want to get back to the basics.
You may know actress Sophie Turner from her eight-year run as Sansa Stark in the hit series Game of Thrones, or from her various other on-screen roles. But thanks to the newest installment of Vogue’s celebrity cooking series on YouTube, we get to know Turner in a different light as she prepares her favorite dish: a simple four-ingredient cheesy pasta. More specifically, the dish is a homemade fettuccine noodle coated in a sauce, consisting of just butter and Parmesan cheese.
“This is my favorite pasta dish,” Turner shares. With a small ingredient list and a simple cooking process, Turner’s favorite dish is an effortless bite that is easy to love.
While the actor mixes flour and an egg to create the dough, she slices into the noodles. To make it easier, you can use already-prepared pasta to save even more time. This would also shorten the ingredient list to just two elements, excluding salt and optional garnish.
Turner puts a pinch of salt into the boiling water before adding in her separated noodles. She notes that a little bit of salt in the water goes a long way.
“A lot of people told me to make it as salty as the sea,” she says. “But I did try that once, and it was awful.”
After the noodles cook, Turner prepares the easy sauce for her pasta. Slicing off about a tablespoon of softened butter off of the stick, she melts the butter in a saucepan and mixes in the cooked pasta before adding a generous amount of fresh-grated Parmesan and combining.
For garnish, Turner adds more Parmesan and a bit of fresh parsley, and the dish is ready to be served! The amount of butter and Parmesan you include in your own rendition of this dish is ultimately up to you, so we recommend you follow your heart and nutritional needs.
Turner shares that she once cut out carbohydrates from her diet completely, but concluded that it wasn’t the right thing for her body. “There’s so much importance in eating a really balanced diet,” she says. “And I think we need to get rid of this idea that carbohydrates are bad for you.” We love this sentiment. At EatingWell, we believe that any food or drink can be included in a healthy eating pattern when done so in moderation—and that includes your favorite pasta dish. In fact, adding in a source of protein and veggies to your pasta dinner can promise a nutritious, satisfying meal.
