Ted Lasso Season 4: Cast, Plot, and Latest News

Clearly, “leap before you look” is a big theme this season. TBD on whether or not we’re taking that literally.
Who is returning to the cast?
Several favorites, including Hannah Waddingham (as Rebecca Welton), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins), and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), have been confirmed, along with Sudeikis, of course.
I know what you’re thinking: What about Phil Dunster, who played fan favorite Jamie Tartt? Dunster was not listed as a series regular for the upcoming season, per E!; however, there is always the chance that he may return to the show in a limited capacity. Also absent from the show’s official production announcement: Nick Mohammed (as Nate Shelley), Sarah Niles (Dr. Sharon Fieldstone), Anthony Head (Rupert Mannion), Toheeb Jimoh (Sam Obisanya), James Lance (Trent Crimm), Cristo Fernandez (Dani Rojas), Kola Bokinni (Isaac McAdoo), and Billy Harris (Colin Hughes), per Variety.
Who is joining the cast?
Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely are joining the Ted Lasso team for season 4. The newcomers’ roles are unclear at the moment, except for Feely, who will play Ted’s son, Henry Lasso.
Will this be the final season?
No word yet, but it does seem as if that could be the case, especially considering the group meant to wrap things up with season three. “It’s daunting because we told the story we wanted to tell,” Sudeikis told the Kelce brothers back in March, though he said the “universe” kept pushing for a fourth season.
“The universe kept just saying things,” he said, noting everyone from “kind folks at the airport” to industry professionals would push for more Ted Lasso. “And it’s just like, ‘Okay, okay. I hear you, I hear you. I hear you. We hear you. We hear you. We’re listening,’” he said. “And then more stories kept unfolding and popping up in our in our heads…we’re just exploring all that now.”
When will season 4 premiere?
AppleTV+ hasn’t shared a release date yet, but we’ll update this post when they do!
Who else is working on the show?
It seems much of the original Ted Lasso creative team will be back. “Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fan base all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion, and unwavering belief,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming at AppleTV+, said in a statement. “Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.”
