A recall was just announced on approximately 111,200 Drinkmate carbonated bottles, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This is following multiple reports of the bottles “exploding” during use.
The Drinkmate 1-liter Carbonation Bottles were sold online throughout the U.S. and Canada through Amazon, Home Depot, Target, Walmart and through the company’s website. The affected bottles were sold from April 2023 through October 2024 for about $20 individually or $130 as a part of some Drinkmate OmniFizz starter kits. The recalled bottles also have printed expiration dates between 01/2026 and 10/2026.
“Drinkmate has received eight reports of the bottle exploding while in use, including four reports resulting in lacerations, impact injuries and hearing damage,” the CPSC reports. Check your carbonation bottle, and if it matches the recall information, request a free replacement through Drinkmate’s website.
